Re plumbing

Moving the oil breather lines.  Last year my catch can would load up with oil from the oil tank.  I'm trying moving the valve cover breather lines straight to the the catch can and bypassing the oil tank.  This way I can eliminate one line off the oil tank.
I think this was the problem line, I can now eliminate it and close it off.

Back to the radiator

After moving the connector on the radiator, guess what, it's still in the way.  Had to make up a smaller line to clear the nose.  Now it fits.

That little 90 degree elbow was hitting the nose.
By using a steel line, I could bent the angle I needed, thus clearing the nose.

Spent the day cleaning the shop and converting the truck from an antique hauler to a race car hauler.

Good as new

At last, the nose is now completed.  It came out OK.  When the other nose is made, this one will become my spare, that I hope I won't need again.

Making progress

Another nice day and made some headway.  Applying the decals is going a lot faster than the first time.  It helps to have many photos of the past work.  This will be completed tomorrow.

We got tires!

Just received 2 sets of Goodyears.  One set for this season and I'll be saving the other set for next year.   I'll use last year's tires for Watkins Glen and then mount the new set for my next event.

One busy day

Not only have both shades of yellow been applied, but I had just enough time to apply the lacquer clear coat.  It was a perfect day for painting.  Tomorrow, I will lightly sand and polish.  Sure glad this part is done.

What! no rain

Yesterday made progress on the nose; was able to prime and sand.  And today with the sunshine, should get both shades of yellow applied.

A little fiberglass

The nose is coming along.  Saturday morning was sunny and got a couple of hours of body work done before the afternoon showers came.  A large crack in the nose needed repair, my other nose had the crack in the exact same spot.

That's done.

What at first appeared to be a simple job turned into a 2-day event.  The radiator was just suppose to bolt in.  As I have now learned, a T190 and T192 radiator are not the same.  But it's basically done.  Pressure test the system, ran the engine, no leaks.

Between the rain showers there was the occasional 5 minutes of sun.  Made a little progress on the nose.

Radiator support

Made a couple of brackets for the radiator support.  This support I got from Eric.  It's made to fit on the front of a Lola T190, but use a T192 nose.  So it's 1/2 right and 1/2 wrong.  The support was just a little short.  The next trick is to fit the radiator hoses.

One step back

The radiator is back at the repair shop having that fitting moved.  Should be done Thursday.  Sanding the nose and now looking for some dry weather to spray the primer on.  Wow, 3 weeks before the Glen, I better get going.

Close, but no cigar

Picked up the radiator yesterday.  It did have a small leak, and that has been repaired.  But - the nose of the car sits right on top of the radiator and a fitting on top is in the way.  So I have to take the radiator back and have the fitting moved.  This radiator came out of a Lola T190, and they have a completely different nose setup.

This is the fitting that is in the way.

My old radiator had the fitting on the side.

Exhaust headers installed

Exhaust headers have been installed with new gaskets.  The radiator should be done today or tomorrow.  I'm hoping this week will be a productive one.
