Updates

Really not much to report.  Spending most of the time getting ready for the antique show that's later this week.  Still have Road America on the table.  July 1 is the dead line.

No oil dripping

The dripping oil from the engine when running or just sitting has been a problem from day one.  So far, 3 days later and not one drop of oil has landed on the floor.  I asked Jim to keep a eye out when he rebuilt the engine.  I sure hope this problem has gone away.

Engine running

Started the engine yesterday, but was not sounding right. When connecting the spark plug wires I crossed cylinder 5 & 7. Basically wire 5 was on cylinder 7. In the first video you can hear the miss. The back fire at the end of the video signaled time to shut it off and see what the problem is.
In the second video,  the firing order is correctly done and the engine is running much smoother. No oil leaks or water leaks.
We have a antique show coming up in a couple of weeks.  Good to have this engine done.

Another rainy day

Back inside working on the car.  All the electric is hooked up and starter motor installed.  Safety wire completed.  Now only thing left before I start the engine is to paint the headers and pickup some oil.
Planning on having the car ready for Road America in July.  Keeping the option open on attending this event.

What to do on a rainy day

I have been spending time working on our Surburban, replacing all the brake lines.  But the rainy day has forced me inside.  So back to the racer.  Oil lines, water lines and oil pump are connected.  Should have it running next week.

Ready to install engine

Clutch discs arrived the other day and are now installed.  Never really came up with a solution on the disc cracking.  Only planning on running 2 or 3 events this year, so I should make it without any issues.
