Wheel bearing front right

With all wheel bearings in hand, I'll start with the worst offender, right front wheel.  From day one, this was never right.  Should been around .001" play.  As you can see in the photos using a dial indicator off the brake rotor, I had play about .017" play.  It wasn't always this bad, but never was .001".

Now I'm ready

It took a better part of a day, but everything is back in it's proper place and swept up.

Digging out again

The forecast was for 3-5" of snow.  Must have got at least 10".   I purchased this snowblower mainly to use to make a path for my plane.  The airport that I keep the plane at has not taxiways.  So you need to make your own  path to the runway.  But now it spends most of it's time at home.

Sure glad I got it. The shop is a long way to the house.

Time to cleanup this mess

Your very own Lola T190/T192 project

Eric had purchased a truck load of Lola T190/T192 parts including 6 tubs(chassis).  I guess he decided to sell the tubs, so here you go.  Your very own project, just pick one out.

Snow

We're at our 3rd snow storm in a week.  Getting tired of this.  The delay has put me a little behind schedule.  Did receive the last set of wheel bearings I needed.
The nose mold.

Nice to be home

We left Springfield, Ohio late yesterday afternoon and got home around 3 this morning. Cut the trip one day short. Had planned to do one more day of shopping, then leave Ohio Monday evening. However the weather for this evening and early Tuesday morning was for freezing rain and snow. So that was a easy decision.

Motorcycle

The motorcycle is all hand made, the builder starts with a large cube of aluminum and 10,000 hours later he ends up with this amazing work of art. It uses a Viper v10 engine. This was at RM Motorsports, the place that had the nose.

Nose

Picked up the nose mold and it looks like just what I needed. Working with this will become my spring project. Once we get back I'll start working on the car again.

Picking up the nose mold this morning

We left NJ Tuesday afternoon and stopped at Clarion, PA for the night. Did run into a little snow on Rt 80.

Departed Clarion early Wednesday morning set out for Toledo, OH.
Hit a little lake effect snow around Cleveland.
But real no problems.
At least not for us. We saw a couple of these.

Once in Toledo, we stopped at a few antique stores and malls, and I hate to say it but the quality keeps going down and down. Found nothing.

So now it's onto Wixom, MI to pickup the nose mold.

Justice Bros. Memorabilia (con't)

The main reason for the purchase of the jackets are for the "JB" patch's. Maybe from the 1980's?

You have seen these jackets with the "Racing Team" on the back. I got 6 NOS from the Justice Bros. web site(last time I looked they were sold out). A few more I bought on ebay.

Maybe from the 1980's

Pickup nose mold next week.

Sometime next week we have some antique shopping to do and need to pickup the nose mold. The nose is just outside of Detroit at a race prep shop. Then it's to Indiana for a large 2 day auction and we'll work our way back home stopping at a few antique malls. We have a antique show coming up in February and could use some fresh merchandise.

Ebay surprise

Been on the hunt for one of these for the past couple of years. It's a Dunlop AGO/30 Optical Alignment Gauge / Tracking Gauge for setting toe-in toe-out on front and rear suspension. Had one when I was racing back in the day, but sold all my equipment after the car was sold, and used the money for flight lessons. Dunlop gauges new, go for $999.00 in the Pegasus catalog. I got this one for $250. on ebay. In the ebay photo it looked a little different than the one I had, after I unpacked it I discovered why it looked different. My old one from the early 80's had many plastic parts, this one was all metal, probably the same vintage as my race car. Saved enough money to pay for entry fee and race gas for a weekend, I'm happy!
.

It was all there and looks to be in working order.

A small collection of Justice Bros. memorabilia I've acquired over the years. I have more to be included in the next week or so.

Small pin (age unknown)

Belt buckle, looks never to have been worn. (age unknown)

Watch in shape of a steering wheel, this is my favorite. (age unknown)

Seneca Lodge reservations completed

For the Watkins Glen race in June, we'll be staying at the Seneca lodge again. I just made reservations with them on the phone. The first day they accept reservations for the year is January 2. So everyone is calling and only the owner of the lodge is answering the phone. So this time it took 1/2 hour of dialing to get through. But it's done and that's good.
