Radiator has departed Seattle.

My radiator is on the way.  Should be here next Thursday. 

UPS tracking

Front uprights installed.

The front uprights are installed and most everything is bolted up.  Next  item is cleanup the exhaust headers and install them.  After that it's changing the gear ratios to Watkins Glen.

Talked to Eric yesterday and he will be sending my much needed radiator this week.  I also asked if he got his tub(chassis) back yet from being completely rebuilt.  He said "not yet", but it is suppose to be completed this week.  Eric is really going to be pressed to get the car to Watkins Glen.

Right rear completed

Finished the right rear suspension.  Now to the front.

Left rear completed

 Finished up the left rear this afternoon and now working on the right side.

 

This side will need the same shim work as the left.

Shim

Working on the left rear suspension, placed a small shim on the inner A arm pickup point.  That should take up the play.  The other side will get the same.

Watkins Glen schedule

Just received the Watkins Glen schedule.  The F5000 cars are the featured race of the weekend.   Also the 2 qualifying races on Saturday will be just F5000 cars.  Plus, we have use of the garage's.  Just like at the Rahal event last year.
I just hope enough cars show up, the organizers would like 15 F5000 cars.  Last  year only 11 cars entered .  This is a new event plus it's a non-spectator one.  I expect low attendance overall.

Lime Rock Park

Every year for almost 30 years Lime Rock race track has had a Labor Day weekend historic race.  The track has always been my favorite.  A couple of years ago the F5000 drivers group polled it's members and very few wanted to race there. 
So I contacted the track to see if my car was eligible.  Was told to send in the registration form and hopefully I will be accepted.

Two months to go

Two months until Watkins Glen.

Starting to work on the front suspension and now that the weather is getting a little warmer, it's time to look at the noses.  Definitely need two, still like to repair the broken one if possible.

Sun n' Fun

This is the sister event to Air Adventure(Oshkosh) held every year in Florida.  I never attended this one and glad I didn't decide to go this year.  This just happened today(Thursday)

Everything looking good

Since Brian was already replacing the bearings, I also had I'm make a new water cooling line.  As you can see, it got a small bend in it from the RA incident.  It also had other damage from many years earlier.

Parts

Picking up the wheel bearing work tomorrow, and the plane's annual should also be completed .  Busy day ahead.

More snow

Picked up 8" of snow yesterday.  Very glad we got the plane into the hanger Tuesday.  It probably would have been another week before that opportunity came around again.

Bearing work completed

Just heard from Brian, all the parts past the crack test and all the wheel bearings have been installed.  All that's left is for me to pickup the parts. 

The plane

Not much happening with the race car so it's airplane time.  The planes annual is due by the end of month.  John the mechanic has a muffler on order and should be here this week.  So maybe next week we'll get in in the shop for it's inspection.  I also have my bi-annual that was due last month.  Every 2 years all pilots are required to have 1 hour of flight time and 1 hour ground time with a flight instructor.  Once the plane comes back, I'll go up with the instructor and get that out of the way.
