A-arm
The lower A arm has play at the inner attachment point. This was something I thought I repaired on the rebuild. Both sides have the same problem. A closer look is needed.

Road America
Going to Road America in July after all. With the event at Watkins Glen in June, it really doesn't make any sense to go back to Watkins Glen in September.
Also might bring some of my F5000 memorabilia to Road America. Seb, the organizer of the F5000 group asked if this was possible. I did it at Watkins Glen in 2008, and it was well received. But back in 2008 the truck didn't have a race car in it. So to accomplish this, I would have to think about a small trailer for the showcases and poster panels.
Haven't forgotten about Air Adventure, still plan on going. But the price of Avgas might stop this plan. Won't know until July

Eric's on the move
I just heard from Eric. He's in England visiting the Lola factory. Hope he is trying to convince them to make the old parts again for our cars.

Vintage Racing Services next week
Talked to Brian and next week will drop off the wheel bearing work. Should be done mid-March. No time for the car this week or next.

F5000 ad
The F5000 Drivers association are going to use the modified Christmas card in a couple of the Vintage Racing magazines for promoting this years events. Excellent choice if I must say so.

All 4 corners removed
Now with all 4 uprights removed and can take them to Brian for the installation of new wheel bearings. Yes, I did decide to leave this work to the expert. Last year I was always worried about a bearing failure. I don't want worry about that again this year.

Race car weekend after all
As it turns out, the trip to Virginia was cancelled. So Saturday morning I'll remove the other rear upright and take care of a few other items on the car.

Started on the right front
Spent a couple of hours yesterday on the car. Removed the right front wheel bearing housing. After taking a longer look at replacing the bearings. I might decide to send this work out to Brian at Vintage Racing Services. I'm not sure if I'm up to this task. I'll give it a couple of days of thought.

Did someone say Snow?
I was going to go on another rant about the snow, but after seeing what happen to Chicago. I'll pass.
Next week it's a trip to Virgina and then in a couple of weeks is our first antique show of the year. Guess it looks like March before I really get back on the car. Most of the work needed has to be done in warmer weather anyway, so nothing really lost.

Wheel bearing front right
With all wheel bearings in hand, I'll start with the worst offender, right front wheel. From day one, this was never right. Should been around .001" play. As you can see in the photos using a dial indicator off the brake rotor, I had play about .017" play. It wasn't always this bad, but never was .001".

Digging out again
The forecast was for 3-5" of snow. Must have got at least 10". I purchased this snowblower mainly to use to make a path for my plane. The airport that I keep the plane at has not taxiways. So you need to make your own path to the runway. But now it spends most of it's time at home.
Sure glad I got it. The shop is a long way to the house.
